Former corrections officer charged with bringing drugs, phones into East Tenn. jail

A former East Tennessee corrections officer is charged with bringing contraband into the Hancock County Jail. 

According to TBI, the investigation revealed that between April and December of 2018, 41-year-old Marty Lee Ferguson used his position as a corrections officer to smuggle drugs and cell phones into the jail to give to inmates. 

Ferguson was indicted by a Hancock County Grand Jury on one count of official misconduct and one count of introduction of contraband to a penal facility. 

He turned himself into police and was booked into the Hancock County Jail on a $30,000 bond.
