The University of Tennessee announced Friday they’ve dismissed a player on the Lady Vols basketball team.

Lady Vols head coach Holly Warlick announced early Friday that sophomore guard Anastasia Hayes was dismissed from the team due to a violation of team rules.

Hayes, a Nashville native, was named SEC Sixth Woman of the Year after averaging 9.1 points per game and 3.4 assists per game coming off the bench.

She was UT’s first player off the bench on 26 occasions and scored in double figures 18 times during her freshman season.

She is a former McDonald’s High School All-American.

No more information about the dismissal has been released at this time. This is a developing story and we’ll continue to update the details as they become available.
