NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN)- A teen was shot multiple times while walking to his west Nashville home Thursday night.
It happened in the 800 block of 40th Avenue North around 9:30 p.m.
Metro police told News 2 a 17-year-old male was walking home from the One Stop Market when he was shot four times during an attempted robbery.
A light-skinned black male approached the victim as he was walking and attempted to rob him, but the teen told the suspect he didn’t have any money, according to police.
The victim was reportedly armed with a handgun, which the suspect took from him before fleeing on foot.
The teen ran from the scene back to his mother’s home.
The teen was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with critical but non-life threatening injuries.
