Teen critically wounded in East Nashville shooting

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — An 18-year-old was critically wounded in a shooting in East Nashville Monday night.  

The shooting happened just before 11:30 p.m. in the 2500 block of Allenwood Drive. 

Metro police reported the teen was involved in an altercation with unknown suspects before witnesses said they heard tires squealing and the sound of gunshots.  

The victim was found by medics inside his vehicle with gunshot wounds to his leg, groin and arm, according to Metro police. 

He was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with critical injuries.  

Metro police said the suspects fled in a large, dark-colored SUV with tinted windows. 

No additional information was immediately released and the investigation is ongoing.
