COCKE COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) – Two people were charged after several firearms were stolen from a Cocke County Sheriff’s Department patrol vehicle.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation began looking in to the theft on Jan. 15.
During their investigation, they learned that on April 25, 2013, Brandy Allen, the then-girlfriend of the deputy, took firearms belonging to the sheriff’s department and her boyfriend from his patrol car.
The investigation further revealed that Allen sold the firearms to Ricky Ellison, 63.
The firearms were ultimately recovered while arrested Ellison on unrelated charges.
Allen, 29, and Ellison were each charged with one count of theft of property over $1,000.
Both were booked into the Cocke County jail and released after posting $5,000 bond each.
