Suspect caught after breaking into South Nashville Popeye’s

A man was taken into custody after breaking into a South Nashville Popeye’s restaurant early Tuesday morning.  

It happened at the location on Nolensville Pike near Harding Place just after midnight.  

Surveillance video shows the man, now identified as Andre Palenzuela, using a rock to break the glass of the drive-thru window, grabbing a cash register and pushing it back out the window.  

As police were searching the area, an officer spotted a man matching the description of the suspect and took him into custody.  

Palenzuela is charged with burglary. News 2 has learned he was previously arrested for on a theft charge in May. 

The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has a detainer on him.
