Student at Belmont University diagnosed with mumps

Belmont University has confirmed a student has been diagnosed with mumps. 

The student was immediately isolated at a home off campus, according to the university.  

A statement from Belmont says this is the second off-campus student recently diagnosed with mumps.  

Belmont University wants to spread the word as mumps is highly contagious.

The school says its health services department is working with anyone who came in close contact with the affected student.
