MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WKRN) – Strawberry season is underway at Batey Farms in Murfreesboro.
The strawberry field is located at 3250 Wilkinson Pike, directly across from the Embassy Suites conference center.
The farm welcomes visitors to pick berries through mid-June.
“We encourage folks to come out, there are many different things you can do with them, folks pick several gallons at a time, we encourage you to freeze those berries individually, lay them out on a cookie sheet, freeze them individually, put them in a Zip-Loc bag, easier to handle for smoothies, desserts, cereal, things later on,” said Brandon Whitt with Batey Farms.
Batey Farms is open Tuesday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The strawberries are sold by the pound for $3.75, or you can purchase pre-picked berries for $4.25.
