Many Nashville Sounds fans came prepared for storms for Friday’s game.
Luckily, the forecast was clear for the ballpark until the overnight hours.
Fans Samantha Amabile and Connor Hall, prepared with their umbrella, even a close parking spot.
Turns out, the First Tennessee Ballpark was recently designated by the National Weather Service as Storm Ready.
That means if a storm or tornado were to hit the ballpark, a plan is in place to keep fans and players safe.
V.P. of Operations for the Nashville Sounds Doug Scopel said he’s in constant contact with the N.W.S., guest services, security, and the umpire in case weather plans have to be put into action.
“We have the big guitar board, a huge sign,” said Scopel. “A big notice on there, depending on the situation, what they need to do. letting them know they need to move from seat location and move to a better location for their safety.”
