LAWRENCEBURG, Tenn. (WKRN) – A small plane crashed in Lawrenceburg Sunday afternoon.

According to Lawrenceburg Now, it happened just after 1 p.m. at the Lawrence County Airport.

The plane, which is believed to be an ultra light, crashed just off the west side of the runway.

Officials told News 2 that one person was taken to a nearby hospital.  No details were immediately released about the extent of that person’s injuries.

Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department and the Tennessee Highway Patrol were called to the scene.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
