Authorities in Dickson are working to track down the person who placed a skimmer on a bank ATM.
Dickson police were alerted Monday that the device was located on a machine at TriStar Bank on Highway 46.
Surveillance video obtained by police showed a man walk up around 12:40 p.m. on March 16 and put the skimmer on the ATM.
The man returned at approximately 3:17 p.m. and removed the device, officers said.
According to police, few customers were affected and the money lost was reimbursed, while their cards were replaced.
A skimmer is a device that thieves attach to an ATM or a payment machine to steal information from people who are swiping their credit or debit cards, the U.S. Department of the Treasury reports.
Anyone with information on this case is urged to contact the Dickson Police Department at 615-446-8041.
