HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (WKRN) – Severe storms killed at least one person, injured several others and caused destruction Saturday evening across Southern Kentucky.

Christian County Emergency Management Director Randy Graham told WHOP that a possible tornado injured 9 people at Eagle Crossing Apartments.

Graham said 6 people were treated on the scene for minor injuries while three other people were taken to an area hospital for treatment of injuries not believed to be life-threatening.

In Logan County, the sheriff said 79-year-old Dallas Combs was killed when her house collapsed in on her during a possible tornado.

On Saturday afternoon, a man was also found inside a car submerged in flood waters in Simpson County.

Stormchasers believe a possible tornado hit the south side of Murray, Kentucky, causing extensive damage to roofs and downing powerlines, leaving Calloway County in the dark.

Officials in Bowling Green said two buildings were struck by lighting and caught fire, causing more damage.

The National Weather Service is expected to survey all the damage Sunday, where they will officially confirm any tornadoes that may have touched down.
