Serial bank robber sought after Mt. Juliet bank robbed

News

Authorities are searching for a serial bank robber after a Mt. Juliet bank was robbed Tuesday.

The unknown man robbed the US Bank on Pleasant Grove Road just before 1 p.m.

Mt. Juliet police reported the man passed a note to a teller demanding cash before fleeing the area. Investigators believe he fled to a waiting getaway vehicle nearby.

The suspect is described as a white male with a medium build, who is possibly in his 40’s or 50’s. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a ball cap, black jacket, white shirt and blue jeans.

No one was injured during the robbery.

The suspect matches the description of a man who robbed a bank in Johnson City and Asheville, North Carolina, according to Mt. Juliet police.

Investigators believe it is likely the suspect is targeting banks along the interstate corridors.

The last bank robbery reported in Mt. Juliet was in November of 2015.

Anyone with information is asked to call 615-754-TIPS.
