A Spanish teacher with Siegel High School has been suspended from teaching after allegations surfaced that she sold alcohol to students.
Alix Morales has taught at Siegel since August 2016 and her schedule shows her classes were for Honors Spanish and Spanish Language and Culture.
Rutherford County Schools spokesperson James Evans released a statement to News 2, which reads:
Alix Morales has been suspended as a result of allegations that she sold alcohol to students. If the allegations are determined to be unfounded, the teacher will be compensated for the period of suspension. If the allegations are determined to be true, additional disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal, may be taken. Because of the ongoing investigation, it would be inappropriate for me to release any additional information at this time.
No additional information was released.
