A 10-year-old Christiana boy is coming home from school today to find his beloved dog waiting for him.

A man returned the dog to the White family Tuesday afternoon, according to the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Department.

The German Shepherd named Goblin was taken from the home on Rucker Road in Christiana on March 10.

A neighbor’s surveillance video reviewed by the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office showed a man putting Goblin into the back seat of a white Honda Civic.

The boy’s mother, Christina White, said her 10-year-old son, Justin, has Asperger syndrome, which is a sensory disorder, and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder.

The dog is his best friend.

“Goblin has been his lifeline for the past two years,” said White. “That dog goes everywhere with us.”

The Sheriff’s Department continues to investigate who took the dog and the circumstances surrounding the theft.
