Water rescue wallet Franklin County 1

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — Rescue crews helped recover a retired veteran’s wallet and keys that were dropped in a Franklin County lake on Memorial Day.

Divers from the Franklin County Rescue Squad responded Monday to the lake after hearing of the incident and were able to locate the man’s belongings in the water.

During the search of the water, crews also found a mysterious purse under a dock.

The rescue squad located a driver’s license in the purse and did a Facebook search to find the owner who said she had lost the purse a while back and thought it was gone forever.

“The dive team made the day of two persons as well as their own,” the rescue squad said in a Facebook post. “With every dive, the team is improving and producing results in their searches.”
