A puppy was saved from a house fire in Centerville, thanks to some hard working firefighters.

The fire began at home around 2:30 a.m. Thursday morning.

The residents were able to escape to safety and told fire crews their puppy was still inside the home.

Firefighters searched the home and found the puppy unconscious.

Crews with the Centerville Volunteer Fire Department removed the pup from the home and successfully resuscitated it using the department’s new pet oxygen masks.

The puppy was reunited with its family.

The American Red Cross was called in to assist the family.
