Two separate groups of protesters gathered in Nashville Thursday to voice their opposition to U.S. Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.
One group held a candlelight vigil in support of sexual assault survivors at Public Square Park.
A second group held a protest against Kavanaugh’s appointment at Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park.
Some of the opposition was aimed at senators who had previously announced plans to vote in favor of Kavanaugh.
Tennessee senators Bob Corker and Lamar Alexander both announced their intent to vote to confirm Kavanaugh following his testimony in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee.
A test vote to confirm Kavanaugh has been scheduled for Friday.
