The Nashville Predators will have to escape Dallas in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs without two of their biggest trade deadline additions.

Brian Boyle and Wayne Simmonds are both being considered week-to-week as the Preds head into Game 3 of the series on Monday night.

Boyle missed Game Two with what was called an “illness.” Monday, though, team officials revealed Boyle had a procedure on his appendix. In 26 games with the Preds, Boyle has five goals and zero assists.

Simmonds left game two after being struck by the puck and has what officials are only calling a lower-body injury. Boyle has just one goal and two assists in 17 games with Nashville.

Rocco Grimaldi and Mikka Salomaki are expected to replace them on the Preds’ fourth line in Game 3.
