Possible incendiary device used to set car fire in Priest Lake area

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) —Metro police are investigating after a possible incendiary device could be responsible for a car fire early Tuesday morning in the Priest Lake community. 

The investigation began when residents reported hearing gunshots along Castlegate Drive around 4 a.m.  

First-responders found a dark-colored sedan from Rutherford County on the shoulder of the roadway with signs it had been on fire, according to Metro police.  

Metro police reported there was evidence near the vehicle that indicated an incendiary device was used to start the fire along with multiple shell casings in the road. 

The Fire Marshal has been called to the scene to assist with the investigation.  

No additional information was immediately released.
