NASHVILLE, Tenne. (WKRN) - House Speaker Glen Casada returns to Tennessee from his vacation on June 3rd.
That's when he's expected to meet with the Republican Caucus to determine a date to resign and help with the transition.
Several names have surfaced in the last day to replace Casada. Here are Republicans who have been mentioned, in alphabetical order:
Rep. Mike Carter is a former judge and he's been highly critical this last week of Speaker Casada
Rep. Bill Dunn is the Speaker Pro Tem, and in that role, he will assume the duties of Speaker once Casada resigns. He may want the job full time.
Matthew Hill of East Tennessee is currently Deputy Speaker. He's been a voice for the more conservative part of the Republican House.
Cameron Sexton is currently House Republican Caucus chair. Right now he is one of the key players in the House
The list could grow or get smaller in the coming days.
