Senator Bob Corker withheld his endorsement for President Donald Trump’s re-election bid Thursday, according to CNN politics.
Corker added that it was “questionable” whether the President would even seek a second term.
“I have no idea whether the President will run for re-election nor what the field will be on the Republican side, so I think it’s way too early to weigh in on who won my support,” Corker told CNN’s “New Day” co-anchor Alisyn Camerota.
The senator also told CNN that he would want to see who’s officially running in 2020 before he made the decision on who to endorse.
Corker announced his retirement from the Senate last year, which sparked tweets from Trump, saying that the senator “begged” him for an endorsement and decided not to run because he “didn’t have the guts.”
Corker would fire back, calling the White House an “adult day care center.”
According to CNN, it was reported that the two patched things up earlier this year.
