NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A weekend shooting in West Nashville that nearly killed a man is believed to have stemmed from an argument over a bicycle.

Brandon Juwuan Elliott, 25, was arrested Tuesday on a charge of attempted criminal homicide.

Metro police were called around 1:15 a.m. Sunday to a report of a shooting in an alley behind 40th Avenue North near Indiana Avenue.

The victim had suffered two gunshot wounds to the back. He was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries.

According to police, two witnesses reported hearing gunshots and seeing Elliott, who they knew as Lil B, standing over the victim, then fleeing from the scene.

The victim was questioned at the hospital and told detectives that, hours earlier, Elliott had asked to ride the victim’s bicycle but the victim said no.

The suspect reportedly called him names, then left.

Hours later, the victim said Elliott returned to the alley and said “now, I got something for you” as he shot the victim multiple times.

Elliott is being held on a $500,000 bond. He is expected in court Thursday morning.
