Police make drug bust after undercover purchase

Officers arrested two people after finding a large stash of drugs in their car Wednesday in North Nashville.

Wendell Russell and Crystal Gibson were arrested after undercover police officers reportedly conducted a “controlled buy” on Brick Church Pike just North of Trinity Lane.

According to a police affidavit, officers searched the car Russell and Gibson were driver after making the purchase.

Inside, officers reportedly found 61 grams of meth, 10 amphetamine pills, six grams of heroin, 44 suboxone pills and four sub-oxone strips.

The affidavit claims investigators also found two scales with drug residue and more than $5,400 in cash.

Russell and Gibson now face multiple drug-related charges.
