Police investigate break-in at downtown Nashville hotel, restaurant

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Metro police are investigating after a downtown Nashville hotel and nearby restaurant were broken into early Thursday morning.

A suspect first shattered the glass of the lobby of the Hyatt Place on Third Avenue South around 2 a.m.

Metro police told News 2 a receptionist was sitting in the lobby when the suspect broke the glass, came inside, took some items and left.

He then walked around the corner to Etch restaurant on Demonbreun Street, shattering its front door and stealing more items.

An officer was in the area and was able to take the man into custody.

It is not immediately known what charges he will face.
