Police find pistol in bedroom of young teen

News

Metro Police found a pistol in the bedroom of a 14-year-old-boy Thursday.

The boy was shot in the shoulder Wednesday night and police got a tip about the gun.

The pistol was reported stolen last October from an unlocked car in East Nashville

Metro Police report 12 guns were stolen from cars last week. Adding insult to injury, 41 cars were stolen last during the same time period because the keys were either left inside or nearby.

Police across the region tell News 2 the stolen cars and guns help fuel more serious crimes, and give teens easy opportunities to get in trouble.

That’s why we’re working with police departments on the ‘Operation Lock it and Pocket’ campaign to urge everyone to do their part to keep our communities safe.
