MARION, Ind. (WCMH) — Police in Indiana say the body of a suspected burglar was found underneath a 900-pound safe that had been overturned.
According to the Marion Indiana Police Department, on Tuesday, a homeowner called officers to say he suspected someone had broken into his garage, after he found the door frame damaged.
The homeowner told police the garage was packed with clutter and he would begin cleaning it Wednesday.
The next day, as the homeowner was cleaning his garage and determining whether anything had been stolen, he noticed his 900-pound antique safe was overturned.
Police say the homeowner began inspecting the safe and found a body underneath the safe.
The Marion Indiana Fire Department was called to the scene to lift the safe in order to remove the body.
The body has not been identified pending family notification.
