Police: 1 killed in Madison hit-and-run crash

A woman injured in a hit-and-run crash in Madison Wednesday night has died.   

The crash happened around 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of Spring Branch Road and Myatt Drive.   

Police said the woman, who was not carrying any identification, was first struck by a dark colored minivan. The driver did not stay at the scene police said.  

The minivan, a 2002 Chevrolet Venture, was later found abandoned in the 2100 block of North Gallatin Pike. Police said the van had damage consistent with striking a pedestrian.  

The victim, police said, was hit by a second vehicle – a 2015 Camry. The driver of the car stayed at the scene and no charges are expected against them.  

The medical examiner is working to identify the woman, who is believed to be in her 40s.
