NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — One person is dead after a crash on I-65 South, according to a release from Metro Police.
Police say the crash happened around 2:30 a.m. on I-65 South near mile marker 84. The driver of a 2016 Kia Soul was driving the wrong way in the southbound lanes and collided with the driver of a tractor-trailer near Rosa L. Parks Blvd.
The wrong way driver, 30-year-old Nakesha Williams of Nashville, died at the scene. The southbound semi driver. 38-year-old Latoya Blair of Clarksville was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
Toxicology testing will be conducted to determine whether impairment was a factor in the crash.
Investigators earlier noted that the crash involved three-vehicles. No other information was given about a third vehicle.
