Metro police said words were exchanged between Golson and Demarco Churchwell, 22. Golson is accused of firing shots at Churchwell.
The victim was transported to TriStar Skyline Medical Center where he died from his injuries.
After the shooting, police said Golson left the mall and walked to a nearby ticket booth where he turned over his gun and asked someone to call law enforcement.
Investigators said Golson, who worked at a shoe shine kiosk in the mall, told detectives that this was part of an ongoing feud following a fight between Golson and Churchwell’s relative back in March.
Golson is expected in court around 9 a.m. Monday.
Churchwell’s girlfriend Alexandria Lavender, 21, is also charged with unlawful gun possession and theft of property.
Lavender is expected in court later this month.
