Every Stewart County School and two schools in Clarksville-Montgomery County are on lockdown while the search for Kirby Wallace is ongoing.

Stewart County Schools has also made changes to its afternoon bus routes.

Instead of being taken home, students on Indian Mound bus routes will be taken to North Stewart Elementary School. Parents will need to pick up their children at that school and show ID to officials there.

The director of schools says bus routes will go back to normal if Wallace is caught and if they get the all-clear from law enforcement.

There will also be extra security at each school during afternoon dismissals if the manhunt is ongoing.

In the meantime, every school will remain on lockdown in the district and students are not allowed outside.

The Clarksville-Montgomery School District has put Woodlawn and Liberty Elementary Schools on lockdown. Parents were sent the following message this morning:

Law enforcement is on site at both school locations and will remain so the rest of the school day and the only people coming into our building are people that can prove to these officers that they have business here at the school.  All students are safe and are continuing on with their day.  Everyone within the building will be staying in this building with no one going outside in order to keep everyone safe.  Once again all students are safe within the building and will continue on with their day as normal.
