One of three teens arrested Monday at Opry Mills Mall now facing new charges

One of the three teens arrested on Monday at Opry Mills Malls after arriving in a carjacked BMW is now facing new charges.

Metro Police have identified the teen as 15-year-old David Earl Mays.

Mays faces two counts of aggravated robbery in connection with two Nashville carjackings.

On July 5th, Metro Police said Mays was one of two teens who robbed a man at gunpoint on Vanderhorst Dr.

Investigators said Mays stole the man’s cash, his debit card, and a 2006 silver Honda Accord.

Police said Mays is also the suspect who robbed a 26-year-old man on Music Valley Dr. on July 8th, stealing the man’s belongings and 2016 Nissan Maxima.

A day later, Mays and two 16-year-old were arrested inside Opry Mills Mall after carjacking a 2010 BMW from Douglas Ave.

The three were at the time charged with auto theft and resisting a police stop, among other charges.

Mays is currently being held at the juvenile detention center.
