One dead after drive-by shooting near Centennial Park

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — One victim was shot and killed on the 3100 block of Long Boulevard near Centennial Park late Wednesday morning.

According to Metro Police, witnesses report a dark-colored SUV drove by and the gunman shot out of the sunroof around 11:30 a.m. The victim, 27-year-old Traquan Primm, was standing on the sidewalk with another man and was struck multiple times. Primm was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died. The man who was standing by him fled on foot, and investigators later interviewed him.

Police say they’re investigating a drug-related motive. A search warrant at a nearby short-term rental resulted in the seizure of more than 20 pounds of marijuana.

Police say the shooting was not affiliated with nearby apartment complexes.
