A house fire that killed a 92-year-old woman Wednesday morning in Trousdale County likely started in the kitchen of the residence, county emergency officials said.
Firefighters were called to the scene on Skillet Creek Road around 5:45 a.m. and arrived to find a fully-involved structure fire.
According to Trousdale County Emergency Services, the body of the 92-year-old victim was located inside the home where she lived alone.
Her body has been taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for positive identification.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
