NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) - A Winter coat is something many of us take for granted. But for hundreds of kids living in Nashville, it's a luxury.

The Nashville Fire Department gives children brand new coats through a program called Operation Warm...1,800 coats in the last two years.

Now they're asking for your help as they prepare for next winter.

EMT Chelsea Kempchinskyand Paramedic and training academy instructor Matt Tidwell stopped by News 2 at 11 a.m. to tell us about Operation Warm.

The Hero Challenge on May 11 is one of their biggest fundraisers. If you've ever dreamed of being a firefighter this is your day.  They'll put you through the firefighter agility test and you can check out their equipment.

We'll tell you how to sign up as soon as that information becomes available.
