The Metropolitan Development Housing Agency has several programs for people who need housing or need to fix up their homes.

Jamie Berry, Director of Communications for MDHA stopped by News 2 at 11 a.m.

First, they’re opening up the waiting list at the Gernert Studio Apartments on Edgehill Ave. for people who are 62 or older.

MDHA is also ready to help homeowners who need to rehab their homes for health and safety reasons.  Berry says, “It’s a way to preserve affordable housing in Nashville.”

There’s a third program for landlords who own rental properties to low-income renters.

MDHA is starting two new programs, as well:

  • 2018 HVAC Program
  • 2018 Homeowner Rehabilitation Loan Roof Program

In January and February, MDHA will open up waiting lists at other properties.
