New service promises to alert you to public emergencies


A new service will alert residents of Metro Nashville to emergency situations.

It’s called the “Metro Emergency Alert and Notification System” or “MEANS”.

The service delivers safety instructions via Text or Landline. It will include emergencies like flooding, public health emergencies or active shooter situations.
