Metro police said the ongoing investigation into Friday morning’s murder of Kevin Stewart near the Antioch IHOP restaurant has lead detectives to believe that the fatal shots were fired from a black Audi SUV, the occupants of which left the IHOP parking lot around the same time as Stewart.
There were two black SUVs in the parking lot Friday morning, one of them a Jeep. The occupants of the Jeep met with detectives Friday night and are considered witnesses, said police. Police said that Stewart, 32, and several friends were leaving the IHOP parking lot on Target Drive when, detectives believe, the Audi pulled alongside the car Stewart was in.
Stewart had reportedly gotten out of the car and was talking with a person(s) in the Audi when someone in that vehicle is believed to have fired shots.
Those associated with the Audi placed a to-go order at IHOP and were recorded by a surveillance camera, police said.
