A North Carolina man is charged with human trafficking for allegedly holding a person in sexual servitude.
Asheboro resident Salvador Espinoza Escobar is accused of exploiting the person for five years.
The county sheriff’s office says he withheld basic needs in exchange for sex acts. He was arrested Wednesday.
Escobar is being held on a $100,000 bond and faces a felony county.
Authorities credit a call to the National human trafficking tipline with saving the victim.
