The Nashville Zoo welcomed its one-millionth visitor of the year on Thursday morning!

The milestone visitor, a precious little boy, will receive a one-year membership to the zoo. His mother told News 2 she and her son were at the zoo on Thursday for their weekly visit.

Jim Bartoo, Marketing and PR Director, told News 2 the Nashville Zoo has seen an eight percent growth each year for the last 10 years.

He said the zoo has several new things planned for the future, including an animal hospital that will allow visitors to walk up and see procedures going on.

The Nashville Zoo is located at 3777 Nolensville Pike and is opened from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

During the week, tickets are $17 for adults, $15 for anyone over the age of 65, $12 for children ages two to 12 and free for children under two. The prices go up by $1 for weekend visits.
