NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – The Nashville Predators hit the ice Friday morning for training camp.
The practice was open to the public, allowing fans to watch as the team did what assistant coach Kevin McCarthy calls an “ice test.”
“Today is a unique thing – we do an on ice test – and what it does, it kind of gives us an idea where the players are. Some made a commitment over the summer. We’ve done this before, so we know exactly where they are at and where they should be,” McCarthy explained.
The Predators’ preseason begins Tuesday against the Florida Panthers. They’ll face off against the Blackhawks in their season opener on Oct. 14.
