A 59-year-old Nashville man is accused of using a knife to slash his girlfriend’s throat and then stab her in the chest.

Danny Cosby was arrested Tuesday night on a charge of attempted criminal homicide.

According to an arrest report, Cosby and the victim were having a disagreement over another man when Cosby pulled out a beige knife and “slashed the throat of the victim.”

Police said Cosby then stabbed his girlfriend in the torso and tried to stab her again.

While being questioned about the crime, detectives said Cosby claimed he “snapped” and that if he could not have the victim, nobody could.

A beige knife was located at the scene, police said.

The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Her condition has not been released.

Cosby’s bond was set at $100,000. He is expected in court Thursday.
