NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Nashville Fire Department responded to a car and house fire in northwest Nashville Tuesday.
Crews responded to the 4200 block of Princess Lane at around 11 a.m.
A woman at the home told firefighters she started her car then went back into her home. When she came back out to the car she noticed smoke coming from its center console.
She went back inside the home and when she again went outside and approached the vehicle, she noticed more smoke.
As she attempted to remove personal items from the vehicle, she noticed the fire.
The car was parked close enough to the home that the fire spread to the structure.
Firefighters cut a hole in the roof of the home and extinguished the fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
