Nashville Fire Department’s Hero’s Challenge raises funds for children in need

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) —You can sign up to train like a firefighter and help the Nashville Fire Department buy warm coats for kids in the community who need them. 

You can take the Hero’s Challenge Saturday at the fire department’s training academy. 

Good Morning Nashville’s Neil Orne was challenged by Fire Commander Scott Lively to try his hand at the brutal course. 

Lively, a 24-year veteran of the department finished in 2 minutes 55 seconds while Neil clocked in at an admirable 3 minutes and 3 seconds.  

Money raised by the challenge Saturday goes toward Operation Warm.
