NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — From figure skating to ice hockey, Ford Ice Center offers something for everyone and now it will offer even more after the new Ford Ice Center Bellevue opens in fall 2019.
The facility is still under construction but crews are working fast to get things ready for opening day.
The new location will offer two skating rinks, a restaurant and much more seating than Antioch.
There are also a number of shops and restaurants just across the street.
With hockey continuing to grow in Nashville, Ford Ice Center’s General Manager said more locations means more opportunities for everyone who wants to hit the ice.
“We have over 800 adults playing in our adult league. We have 250 adults on a wait list so that is about 20 extra teams we would have if we had the ice to do it and that is what Ford Ice Center Bellevue should be able to relieve a little bit. We do believe that almost the second we open this building we will be at almost 100 percent capacity,” said General Manager Danny Butler.
“The facility itself is a lot like Antioch. Two sheets of ice, both NHL size. The biggest difference is on one sheet of ice, we have 1000 seats. What that is going to give us is the opportunity to host a lot more USA hockey and US figure skating events that demand that kind of seating,” added Butler.
So far, Ford Ice Center Bellevue has about 15 tournaments booked and both the adult and youth leagues are filling up fast.
