Gaylord unveiled the outdoor amenities for Nashville’s newest tourism driver, SoundWaves, Thursday morning at the Opryland Hotel.
The local entertainment group hosted a ribbon cutting and special celebration at the upscale, half-indoor-half-outdoor water park at Gaylord Opryland, enlisting several local personalities like News 2’s Stephanie Langston to help break-in the slides for a charitable cause.
SoundWaves spans four acres and 111,000 square feet of indoor attractions, dining and amenities, as well as 106,000 square feet of outdoor water attractions.
The grand opening event supported Operation Finally Home. The organization provides free mortgages for families when they become wounded or ill, and they were able to raise $20,000 at Thursday’s ribbon cutting.
The outside area of SoundWaves will officially open on Friday to hotel guests and those who book party rooms.
