AUGUSTA, Ga. (WKRN) – A 15-year-old girl at the center of an Amber Alert out of Georgia was found safe in East Tennessee on Saturday.
WJBF reports Calah Waskow was spotted in Sevierville with Jason Johnson, who is accused of abducting her.RELATED: AMBER Alert: Abducted Georgia teen believed to be in ‘extreme danger’
Officers in Sevierville say they received a call from a man who was recognized the pair and started following them.
They reportedly went from gas station to gas station and were finally stopped at a Russell Stover Candy Store.
Johnson was taken into police custody and Waskow is undergoing evaluation.
Johnson is accused of abducting the teen on Dec. 4 in Evans, Georgia. Authorities believed she was in “extreme danger” after she vanished.
On Saturday afternoon Waskow’s brother, Jayson Wheatley, posted to Facebook saying, “They found her and have him in custody. Tennessee is where they were caught.”
No additional details have been released about the abduction.
