Tuesday marks the first day of class for students at Metro Nashville Public Schools.
The district added two new schools for the 2019-2020 school year.
Eagle View Elementary will open in Antioch on Tuesday, and the Early College High School Program will begin at Nashville State.
Teachers have been in their buildings since August 1 for in-service days.
Police are reminding drivers of a new law that makes it illegal to use a hand-held mobile phone in an active school zone.
