Metro police search for good Samaritan who saved girl from attack

News

Metro police are working to locate a good Samaritan who helped save a 10-year-old girl while she was being attacked in South Nashville Tuesday.

It happened in an apartment complex parking lot in the 5100 block of Nolensville Pike.

The girl was waiting for a ride when the 16-year-old suspect drove by in a stolen Jeep. The teen was coincidentally arrested later that afternoon while fleeing from police after the stolen Jeep was spotted by an alert citizen.

Metro police said the teen stopped beside the girl, got out and asked for her phone number.

The girl told him to go away, which is when the teen grabbed her and she began to struggle to get free, according to Metro police.

An unknown man in a white pickup truck stopped to help her and the teen drove off in the Jeep.

The girl positively identified the teen as the suspect who tried to grab her.

The good Samaritan who helped the girl is asked to call Youth Services at 615-862-7417 so detectives can speak with him.
