Mayor David Briley’s office is working with several agencies ahead of forecasted heavy rain to prepare for the possibility of flooding.
According to a release from Mayor Briley’s office, the U.S. Corps of Engineers Water Management is continuing to monitor rain forecasts, taking that into account as they decide how to position the Cumberland River reservoir system.
The Office of Emergency Management (OEM) is also monitoring the situation and has prepared swift water and volunteers to respond. The OEM will work with Metro Water Services (MWS) and Public Works to respond to flooded roads.
MWS will clear debris from storm drains ahead of the rain.
